Overview
- The specific dangerous goods are subjected to “Limited Quantity regulation should always be picked and Transported in LQ approved Package material.
- When the Product is completely picked there is no need for a new LQ Package.
- If the product is picked in small quantities then those Products should be packed in LQ-approved Package material.
- An indication that allows the warehouse operator to know that this product needs to be put in an LQ box.
- A message ‘LQ-box’ should pop-up on the RF screen at the start of a picking order when LQ-relevant materials are to be picked in their BUoM (PC).

Problem Statement
- When the Product is completely picked there is no need for a new LQ Package.
- If the product is picked in small quantities then those Products should be packed in LQ-approved Package material.
Limitation / Challenges
- In SAP Standard there is no Popup or Indicator stating that the Product picked is LQ relevant material and should be Packed using LQ approved Packing Material.
Business Requirement
- The “LQ-box” message should appear for piece picking regardless of order and document types.
- The message should not be given for full pallet picking (via a choice of activity area)
- When should the message appear?
There are two scenarios
- At the start of Picking
- If the warehouse order contains LQ relevant product, with a small quantity picking than full box picking.
- Then a Message should Popup or display on the RF screen.
- At scan of source bin
- Immediately after scanning the source bin Location for the LQ relevant Product.
Solution
- In addition to enhancing the activity, At the time of picking the Product, LQ Message is displayed at end of the screen program /SCWM/SAPLRF_PICKING
- At the start of picking
-
-
- e.g. When a product A is LQ-relevant and is packed per 4 PC in 1 Box:
- Picking of 3 PC “A” => Message “LQ box” is displayed
- Picking of 4 PC (= 1 Box) => NO message is not displayed
- Picking of 5 PC
- WT will be split into WT1 for 1 Box and WT2 for 1 PC => Message “LQ box”
- e.g. When a product A is LQ-relevant and is packed per 4 PC in 1 Box:
-
Scenario 2
-
- At scan of source bin
This message should appear regardless of the picking quantity:
-
-
-
- It will be possible that picking of 4 PC (= 1 Box) will be requested, while in fact there could be 4 loose pieces (not in a box) on the source bin.
- This will also cover the scenario in which 4 PC (= 1 Box) is requested, but picking is split over two source bins (e.g. pick the last 2 PC of bin 1 and pick the remaining 2 PC from bin 2)
-
-
e.g. the picker scans the source bin of an LQ-relevant product => Message “LQ box”.
The picker “confirms” the message (click “F1 – OK”) and will continue the picking by entering the product quantity.
The picking is confirmed onto the pallet Destination HU. The LQ box itself is not an HU.
Summary
- When a Dangerous Goods are been picked in small quantity, then the Warehouse Operator will get an indication that the Product should be packed in a LQ Box.
